# Retry a verification

> Recover an EasyOnboard session that is Pending because a government check, such as NIN or BVN, was temporarily unavailable.

When a government check such as **NIN** or **BVN** cannot be completed because the provider is temporarily unavailable, the session stays **Pending**. It is not marked **Failed** or **Abandoned**, so you do not have to start the flow again.

**Retry** appears next to the status while the session is Pending. You can run the check again yourself, or leave it for Dojah to retry automatically about once an hour. When the provider responds, the session becomes **Successful** or **Failed**, and **Retry** is no longer shown.

## Retry a pending session

1. Open **Workflows** → **EasyOnboard** → **Verifications**.
2. Open the session, or find it under **My Pending Verifications**.
3. Click **Retry**, next to the Pending status.

If the provider is available, the session updates to **Successful** or **Failed**. If it is still unavailable, the session stays **Pending**. You can retry again later.

<Note>
  While a retry is in progress, **Retry** shows a loading state and cannot be clicked again. This also applies if Dojah is already retrying that session automatically.
